Lot 1775		Israel. (Palestine Mandate), Important Collection of All 5 Denominations of Anglo-Palestine Banknotes, 1948-51. Pick# 14s, 15s, 16s, 17s, 18s. Each SPECIMEN Serial No. 000000. Consists of: 500 Mils, 1, 5, 10 and 50 Palestine Pounds - each cancelled with 2 punches. These were originally sold in an 11.5-by-7.5-inch gray album with the cover printed in Hebrew; a page printed in German indicated that these ABnco Specimens were from the August 1, 1948 Series that was in use until September 1951, and that the Anglo-Palestine Bank released less than ten of these albums. A similar collection was sold by Heritage at the January 7, 2016 FUN Auction for $9,635. Would be an important addition to a serious collection of Palestine or Israel material.
